Surf and Turf Delight with Creamy Mac & Cheese and Steamed Broccoli
Ingredients:
For the Steak & Seafood:
2 filet mignon steaks (6 oz each)
2 lobster tails, halved
8 large shrimp, peeled and deveined
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
Juice of 1 lemon
1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
For the Light Butter Sauce:
4 tbsp unsalted butter
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)
Salt to taste
For the Macaroni and Cheese:
8 oz elbow macaroni
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
2 cups milk (whole or 2%)
1½ cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
½ cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
Salt and pepper, to taste
¼ cup breadcrumbs (optional, for topping)
For the Broccoli:
2 cups broccoli florets
Salt to taste
Instructions:
Macaroni and Cheese:
Boil pasta until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a saucepan, melt butter, stir in flour, and cook 1–2 minutes.
Whisk in milk and cook until thickened.
Add cheeses, stir until melted. Season with salt and pepper.
Mix in pasta. Optional: top with breadcrumbs and broil until golden.
Steamed Broccoli:
Steam broccoli for 5–7 minutes until tender-crisp.
Season lightly with salt.
Steak & Seafood:
Season steak, lobster, and shrimp with salt and pepper.
Heat olive oil in skillet over medium-high. Sear steaks 3–4 min per side (for medium rare). Rest steaks.
In the same pan, melt butter, add garlic, cook lobster and shrimp 2–3 min per side until opaque.
Add lemon juice and parsley; baste seafood.
Butter Sauce:
In small pan, melt butter. Add garlic, cook briefly.
Stir in lemon juice and Dijon. Season lightly.
Plate:
Arrange steak, lobster, and shrimp on plate. Drizzle with butter sauce.
Add sides of mac & cheese and steamed broccoli.
Garnish with lemon wedge and extra parsley. Serve hot.
