Ground Beef and Potato Casserole
Ingredients:
500g ground beef
6 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
1 onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
1 cup beef broth
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon dried thyme
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté until translucent, about 3 minutes.
Add ground beef to the skillet, cooking until browned. Season with dried thyme, salt, and pepper. Remove from heat and set aside.
In a greased baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes, followed by the cooked ground beef mixture, and then the remaining potato slices.
Pour beef broth over the layers, ensuring even distribution.
Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
Remove the foil, sprinkle grated cheddar cheese on top, and bake uncovered for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Let the casserole rest for 10 minutes before serving.
