Here’s a delightful recipe for Deep-Fried Strawberry Cheesecake:
Ingredients
For the Cheesecake Filling:
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup strawberries, finely chopped
For the Battered Coating:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup cornstarch
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup cold milk
1 egg
For Frying:
Vegetable oil (for frying)
For Topping:
Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Fresh strawberries (for garnish, optional)
Chocolate or caramel sauce (optional)
Instructions
Prepare the Cheesecake Filling:
In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth.
Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract; mix until well combined.
Fold in the chopped strawberries. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
Form the Cheesecake Bites:
Once chilled, scoop out small portions (about 1 tablespoon) of the cheesecake mixture and roll them into balls.
Place the balls on a parchment-lined tray and freeze for about 1 hour until firm.
Make the Batter:
In a bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
In another bowl, mix the cold milk and egg. Gradually combine the wet and dry ingredients, mixing until smooth.
Heat the Oil:
In a deep fryer or a large, deep pot, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
Fry the Cheesecake Bites:
Remove the cheesecake balls from the freezer.
Dip each ball into the batter, allowing any excess to drip off, then carefully lower them into the hot oil.
Fry in batches, cooking for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown, turning occasionally.
Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
