Grilled Beef Tostadas with Carne Asada

Ingredients:

1 lb beef flank steak or skirt steak
1 tbsp olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 small onion, chopped
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp chili powder
Salt and pepper to taste
6 tostada shells
1 cup refried beans
1 cup shredded lettuce
1 tomato, chopped
1/2 cup shredded cheese
1/4 cup sour cream
Salsa (optional)

Directions:

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season the steak with cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
Cook the steak in the skillet for about 5-7 minutes per side until desired doneness. Remove from heat, let it rest, then slice thinly against the grain.
Warm the tostada shells in the oven for 5 minutes or until crisp.
Spread a thin layer of refried beans over each tostada shell.
Layer on the shredded lettuce, chopped tomato, and sliced carne asada.
Top with shredded cheese, sour cream, and salsa if desired.
Serve immediately and enjoy the crispy, flavorful tostadas!
