Sweet and Spicy Honey Pepper Chicken
Ingredients:
1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
1 cup flour
½ tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
½ cup cornstarch
2 large eggs, beaten
1-2 tbsp vegetable oil (for frying)
For the Honey Pepper Sauce:
¼ cup honey
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp rice vinegar
1 tbsp sriracha (adjust to taste)
1 tbsp ketchup
1 tsp garlic, minced
1 tsp ginger, minced
1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for extra spice)
For Garnish:
Chopped green onions
Sesame seeds
Directions:
Prep the Chicken:
In a bowl, mix flour, salt, black pepper, and cornstarch. Dip the chicken pieces in the beaten eggs, then coat them in the flour mixture, ensuring an even coating.
Fry the Chicken:
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the chicken in batches, cooking each side for about 4-5 minutes or until golden and crispy. Remove and place on paper towels to drain.
Make the Honey Pepper Sauce:
In a small saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sriracha, ketchup, garlic, ginger, and crushed red pepper flakes. Simmer over medium heat for 3-4 minutes, stirring until it thickens slightly.
Toss the Chicken in Sauce:
Place the fried chicken in a large bowl, pour the honey pepper sauce over it, and toss until evenly coated.
Serve and Garnish:
Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot with rice or noodles.
