German Chocolate Poke Cake
Ingredients
1 box German chocolate cake mix (plus ingredients per package instructions)
1 cup sweetened condensed milk
1 cup caramel sauce
½ cup chocolate chips
½ cup shredded coconut
½ cup chopped pecans
½ cup chocolate frosting
½ cup caramel frosting
Directions:
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish to prevent sticking.
Bake the Cake:
Prepare the German chocolate cake according to the package instructions. Bake until fully cooked, following the recommended baking time on the package.
Cool and Poke Holes:
Let the cake cool slightly. Then, using the handle of a wooden spoon, poke holes all over the cake to allow the fillings to soak in.
Add Sweetened Condensed Milk & Caramel:
Evenly pour the sweetened condensed milk over the cake, ensuring it seeps into the holes. Then, drizzle the caramel sauce over the top.
Top with Chocolate Chips, Coconut, and Pecans:
Sprinkle the cake with chocolate chips, shredded coconut, and chopped pecans for added texture and flavor.
Drizzle with Frostings:
Heat the chocolate and caramel frostings in the microwave until they reach a pourable consistency. Drizzle both over the cake.
Rest and Serve:
Let the cake rest for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld before serving. Enjoy!
