Sweet and Spicy Honey Pepper Chicken
Full Recipe
Ingredients:
1 lb (450g) chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
2 tablespoons (30ml) olive oil
1 tablespoon (15ml) soy sauce
½ cup (120ml) honey
1 tablespoon (15ml) apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon (5g) red pepper flakes (adjust for spice preference)
1 teaspoon (5g) black pepper
1 teaspoon (5g) garlic powder
½ teaspoon (2.5g) salt
1 tablespoon (15g) cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons (30ml) water (for thickening)
2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
Sesame seeds (for garnish, optional)
Directions:
Marinate the Chicken:
In a bowl, combine the chicken pieces, olive oil, soy sauce, honey, apple cider vinegar, red pepper flakes, black pepper, garlic powder, and salt. Toss to coat the chicken evenly. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes (or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator for more flavor).
Cook the Chicken:
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken along with the marinade. Cook for about 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and no longer pink in the center.
Thicken the Sauce:
Stir in the cornstarch mixture and cook for an additional 1–2 minutes, until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken.
Serve:
Remove from heat and transfer the chicken to a serving dish. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds, if desired.
