Slow Cooker Beef Brisket with BBQ Sauce

Ingredients:

3-4 lbs beef brisket
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp paprika
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for a spicy kick)

BBQ Sauce:

1 1/2 cups BBQ sauce (store-bought or homemade)
1/2 cup beef broth
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder

Instructions:

Prep the Brisket:

In a small bowl, mix together paprika, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
Rub the spice mixture all over the brisket.
Sear the Brisket:

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Sear the brisket on all sides until browned, about 2-3 minutes per side.

Slow Cook:

Place the seared brisket in the slow cooker.
In a bowl, mix together BBQ sauce, beef broth, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, and onion powder.
Pour the BBQ sauce mixture over the brisket, ensuring it’s fully coated.

Cook:

Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours, or until the brisket is tender and easily shreds with a fork.

Serve:

Remove the brisket from the slow cooker and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing or shredding.
Drizzle with extra BBQ sauce from the slow cooker before serving.

Notes:

Serve with coleslaw, pickles, and soft rolls for a delicious BBQ sandwich.
Leftover brisket can be used in sandwiches, tacos, or salads.
