Ingredients:
2 pounds pork spareribs
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup hoisin sauce
1/4 cup rice vinegar
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons sesame oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
1 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
2 green onions, sliced
Sesame seeds, for garnish
Directions:
Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and place a rack on top.
In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, honey, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, five-spice powder, and red pepper flakes (if using).
Place the spareribs on the prepared rack and brush both sides with the sauce mixture.
Cover the ribs with foil and bake for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until tender.
Remove the foil and brush the ribs with more of the sauce. Increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C) and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the ribs are caramelized and slightly crispy.
Let the ribs rest for a few minutes before slicing. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
