Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
4 large potatoes, peeled and sliced
1 medium onion, chopped
1 can of cream of mushroom soup
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons butter
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and chopped onion until the beef is browned. Drain any excess fat.
In a baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes, followed by half of the ground beef mixture. Repeat the layers.
In a bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup and milk until smooth. Pour this over the beef and potato layers.
Dot with butter and season with salt and pepper.
Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour.
Remove the foil, sprinkle with cheddar cheese, and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
